While You're Waiting For Us

Here's what to do in the next 10 minutes.

Quick steps that protect your home and make our job faster when we arrive.

Move what you can

Get furniture, electronics, and valuables away from where water's coming in. Plastic sheeting or trash bags work in a pinch.

Catch the water

Buckets or storage bins under the drip. Towels around the base. Small hole in a sagging ceiling can release a pool of water — drain it on purpose, in a controlled spot.

Snap photos

Wide shots of the room, close-ups of the damage, and any visible roof or ceiling area. Helpful for us — and for insurance later if needed.

Call StormSafe

919-335-7754. We'll get the basics, confirm location, and dispatch the soonest available crew. Tarping if the weather requires it.

Safety first — please don't climb on a wet roof. Take photos from the ground and stay clear of any electrical components or sagging ceilings near water. We've got the ladder and the tarps.

Emergency Situations We Handle

If it's wet, broken, or open to the sky — we cover it.

Decades of Triangle storms behind us. Most emergencies fall into one of these.

Heavy rain leaks

Water through ceilings, walls, attics, light fixtures.

Missing shingles

Wind-stripped sections, exposed underlayment.

Roof punctures

Fallen limbs, debris, hail through the deck.

Wind & storm damage

Lifted shingles, ripped flashing, openings after a front rolls through.

Flashing & vent leaks

Chimney, sidewall, pipe boot, vent boot — common silent leak sources.

Exposed roof decking

When shingles are gone and the deck is staring at the sky. Tarp first, repair next.

Emergency Tarping

When repair can't happen today, the tarp keeps water out.

What a proper tarp looks like

A real emergency tarp isn't just a blue sheet thrown over the damage. It's anchored over the ridge, secured to dry framing with a sealed perimeter, and pitched so water sheds off the roof — not into the ceiling.

  • Heavy-duty reinforced tarp sized to cover the opening + a wide overlap
  • Anchored to dry decking — no nailing through wet, soft, or rotted areas
  • Sealed and pitched correctly so the next storm doesn't pool on it
  • Documented with photos so you have the record for insurance if you need it

Tarping is temporary. We'll come back for the permanent repair as soon as conditions allow — and walk you through whether that's a patch, a full repair, or a replacement.

They literally took the stress out of distress. Walked my family through every part of the process and made the whole thing actually feel manageable.

PJ Baker-Nicholas ★★★★★ Google

Thomas and Chad replaced our roof. They made the process so easy and we're very pleased. It's been over a week and we've only found four nails in the yard. On time, respectful, and a great job cleaning up.

Quick Answers

The questions you don't have time to ask.

How fast can you actually get here? +

During business hours, we usually have a tech to your address the same day. After-hours and during widespread storm events, response times stretch — but call us anyway and we'll give you a real ETA, not a guess.

Do I need a tarp or just a repair? +

Depends on weather, the size of the opening, and the roof's condition. If a clean repair can happen the same day, we'll do that. If rain is on the way and the repair can't be finished in time, we tarp first and come back to repair properly.

Can I tarp the roof myself? +

We strongly recommend you don't. Wet roofs are slippery, storm-damaged decking can give way under weight, and an improperly anchored tarp will lift in the next gust and make the leak worse. Take photos from the ground and let us bring the ladder.

What should I do while I wait for you? +

Move valuables clear, catch the water with buckets, take photos, and stay away from any electrical fixtures with water near them. If a ceiling is sagging from a water pool, drain it intentionally with a small hole over a bucket — better than letting it collapse on its own.

Can this become an insurance claim? +

If the damage looks storm-related, yes — possibly. We document everything during the visit so you have the evidence. Coverage is decided by your carrier, not us, but we'll set you up with what you need to start a claim if you choose to.

Do you handle the permanent repair too? +

Yes. Tarping is just step one. Once conditions allow, we come back for the actual fix — repair, partial replacement, or full replacement, whichever the roof actually needs. You don't have to call a separate company.

Don't watch your ceiling. Call us.

The longer water sits, the more it costs. We'll get there fast, tarp if it can't wait, and walk you through the rest.
