StormSafePremier Roofing Company proudly serving Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding areas
Storm damage. Adjuster visits. Scope-of-work disagreements. Depreciation holdbacks. We've seen it all — and we've helped hundreds of Triangle homeowners get the roof they're owed under their policy.
StormSafe can't legally negotiate your insurance claim, set the dollar value of your loss, or settle anything on your behalf. What we can do is document the damage, meet your adjuster on the roof, advocate for the right scope of work, and install the roof your policy covers. When carriers push back unfairly, we partner with licensed public adjusters in NC who can fight for you.
Where StormSafe Fits In
Some roofers will tell you they "handle the whole claim" or "guarantee approval." That's either dishonest or illegal in North Carolina. Here's exactly where StormSafe shows up — and where licensed professionals take over.

It's against the law — and against your interests
The Claim Process · Step by Step
Insurance claims feel chaotic because nobody walks you through them. Here's the entire path, who does what, and roughly how long each stage takes.
We come out within 48 hours. Drone imagery for the full roof, hands-on for the details. You'll get a written report with photo evidence — yours to keep, claim or not.
StormSafeYou file the claim — only the policyholder can do that. Have our report handy when you call. Your carrier will assign a claim number and schedule an adjuster visit, usually within 1–2 weeks.
YouThis is the moment that decides your claim. We're up there with them, walking the damage point by point, making sure nothing gets missed or written off as "wear and tear."
StormSafe + AdjusterYou'll get a "Scope of Loss" document and an initial check (ACV — actual cash value). If the scope matches what we documented, great. If it doesn't, this is when we discuss escalation options.
Your carrierIf the scope is unfair, we'll connect you with a NC-licensed public adjuster. They negotiate with your carrier — not us. They typically work for a percentage of additional recovery.
Public adjuster (optional)Once the scope is right and you've signed off, we install. Tear-off, underlayment, shingles, ridge vent, the works — usually one day. Then we send the carrier a final invoice and depreciation request.
StormSafeMost policies are "Replacement Cost Value" — meaning the carrier holds back depreciation until work is done. Once we submit completion paperwork, the second check (the depreciation) gets released to you.
Your carrierWhatever your deductible is on your policy — that's your only out-of-pocket cost. We never absorb it (illegal in NC), but we can connect you with financing if you need to spread the deductible over a few months.
YouWhy Triangle Homeowners Pick Us For Claims
A roofer can either show up after the adjuster's already gone home and shrug — or be on the roof with them, photo evidence in hand, fighting for the right scope. Guess which one we are.
Drone aerials, close-up photos, written summaries with damage maps. The kind of report that makes "soft denials" much harder for carriers to justify.
Most roofing claim outcomes are decided in 30 minutes on a roof. We make sure your roofer is up there walking the damage with the adjuster — not down in the driveway.
When a carrier's scope is genuinely unfair, we won't just shrug. We have working relationships with licensed NC public adjusters who fight on your behalf — for a percentage of additional recovery, not a flat fee.
Many carriers offer discounts for FORTIFIED-rated roofs. We're certified installers, which means your replacement can come back stronger and cheaper to insure than the roof that just failed.
Storm damage gets worse the longer it sits — and many policies have strict filing windows. We aim to be on your roof within 48 hours of your call, often same-day during heavy storm seasons.
Whether the roof's paid through insurance or out of pocket, you get the same install, the same Triangle-local crews, and the same warranty. No corner-cutting on claim work.
Signs It's Time To Inspect
Most insurance-eligible damage isn't visible from the ground. Hail strikes look like nickel-sized dimples on shingles. Wind damage often shows as lifted seals, not missing shingles. By the time you see a leak inside, you're months past the ideal claim window.
Triangle Homeowners Who've Been Through It
They literally took the stress out of distress. Walked my family through every part of the process and made the whole thing actually feel manageable.
From the initial phone call to completion, the team was friendly, responsive, and attentive. They kept me informed throughout and made sure I was satisfied. Their commitment to customer satisfaction is commendable.
Thomas and Chad replaced our roof. They made the process so easy and we're very pleased. It's been over a week and we've only found four nails in the yard. On time, respectful, and a great job cleaning up.
Insurance Claim FAQ
Eligibility comes down to two things: (1) Was there a covered peril?(wind, hail, fallen tree, etc — most homeowners' policies cover these) and (2) Is the damage documentable? Some insurance-eligible damage isn't visible from the ground — granule loss, hairline impacts, lifted seals. Our free inspection answers both questions before you call your carrier.
After. Filing without documentation is how claims get denied as "wear and tear." We inspect first, give you a written report, and then you call your carrier with real evidence in hand. Carriers and adjusters handle these calls very differently when the homeowner has documentation.
Possibly — but typically far less than the cost of replacing a roof out of pocket. NC carriers vary on this. Some won't raise premiums on weather-related claims; others will. We can't promise either way. What we can say: if your roof is genuinely damaged, the math almost always favors filing.
A public adjuster is a NC-licensed professional who negotiates claims on the homeowner's behalf — the way an insurance company adjuster negotiates for the carrier. You only need one if your carrier denies a legitimate claim or settles for far less than the actual loss. Most claims don't need one. When they do, public adjusters typically work for 10–20% of additional recovery — not a flat fee.
No — and any contractor offering to is breaking NC law. Under NC General Statute 58-3-285, it's a misdemeanor for a contractor to rebate, waive, or "absorb" a homeowner's insurance deductible. We never do. What we can do is connect you with financing options to spread your deductible over manageable payments.
From first inspection to final shingle, typical claims run 4–8 weeks. Most of that is waiting on the carrier. Once your scope is approved and signed, the actual install is usually one day. The remaining time is depreciation paperwork.
Don't give up. Many initial denials are based on incomplete documentation or "soft" findings. We've seen plenty of denied claims get overturned with better evidence — sometimes just from us inspecting and providing a written report. If the denial is legitimate, we'll tell you. If it's not, we'll connect you with a public adjuster.
Yes. We're certified FORTIFIED installers, which means we can replace your roof to the IBHS FORTIFIED standard. Many NC carriers (and the state itself) offer significant premium discounts for FORTIFIED-rated roofs. We'll handle the certification paperwork as part of the install.
48-hour turnaround. Drone + hands-on. Written report you keep — claim or not. Zero cost, zero pressure.
