Complete Exterior

Siding is rarely just siding.

When the old siding comes off, you see what's underneath — and most homes need more than a panel swap. We're set up to handle the whole exterior in one mobilization, so you don't pay multiple trip charges for a separate trim crew, fascia crew, and gutter crew.

Trim & corner posts

HardieTrim or PVC trim around windows, doors, and corners — pre-finished, sealed, and color-matched to the new siding.

Fascia & soffit

Replace rotted wood fascia with vinyl, aluminum, or HardieTrim. Vented or solid soffit to fix attic ventilation while it's open.

Window & door wraps

Aluminum or PVC wraps around every penetration. Tight, water-shedding details where the old siding usually fails first.

House wrap & flashing

New weather-resistant barrier and flashing tape behind the new siding — what actually keeps water out of the wall cavity.

How It Works

From quote to finished exterior in about a week.

A typical Triangle reside (1,800-2,400 sq ft of siding) goes from kickoff to final walk-through in 4-7 working days, weather permitting. Here's how the project flows.

1 · Free in-home quote

We measure the elevations, walk through colors and trim styles, and identify any soft spots in the existing exterior. Written estimate in 24-48 hours.

2 · Color & style

We bring physical sample sticks, hold them on your house, and help you decide. Pick the lap profile, accent zones, trim color, and finish package.

3 · Tear-off & install

Old siding off, house-wrap inspected and replaced, repairs to any rotted sheathing, then new siding goes up — section by section, never a fully open wall overnight.

4 · Final walk & warranty

Punch-list walk with the project manager. James Hardie warranty registered with the manufacturer; CertainTeed warranty registered direct. Workmanship warranty from us on top.

Fiber vs. Vinyl

Both are good. Which one is right for you?

There is no "best" siding — only the best siding for your home, your timeline, and your budget. Here's how the two stack up so you can make the right call.

James Hardie Fiber Cement

Long-term play · resale-positive

  • 15-30 year warranties on substrate and ColorPlus finish — designed to outlast vinyl by a decade-plus.
  • Pest, fire, and rot resistant. No warping in NC humidity, no woodpecker holes.
  • Holds resale value — appraisers and HOAs treat Hardie as an upgrade vs. base-spec vinyl.
  • 700+ ColorPlus shades, lap and board-and-batten profiles, custom trim packages.
  • Higher upfront cost — typically 30-50% more installed than equivalent vinyl coverage.

CertainTeed Mainstreet Vinyl

Smart budget · faster install

  • Lifetime limited warranty from CertainTeed including hail impact and color fade.
  • Color molded through the panel — can't peel, flake, or chip like painted siding.
  • 30-50% lower installed cost — same curb-appeal lift on a tighter budget.
  • 20+ stock colors in the D4 and D5 profile — available on our normal install timeline.
  • Faster install — lighter panels, snap-lock system, fewer cut-and-fit details.

Why StormSafe

A roofing company that takes siding seriously.

Most siding contractors are siding-only. We're a full-exterior shop — roof, gutters, siding, trim — which means we're already on your roof line and we already understand how water moves through the building envelope. That changes how we install.

We see what's behind it

When we tear off, we look at the sheathing, house wrap, and flashing. Rotted bottom plates, missing kickout flashing, and bad window wraps all get fixed before new siding goes up.

One mobilization

If your roof, gutters, or trim need work too, we handle it on the same project — one crew, one project manager, one schedule. No "the gutter guy will come Tuesday" runaround.

Manufacturer-credentialed

James Hardie installer with current product training, CertainTeed credentialed installer. Both warranties register cleanly under our license number.

Real warranty backing

Hardie 30-year substrate, 15-year finish. CertainTeed lifetime limited. StormSafe workmanship warranty on top — we're not going anywhere.

Recent Customers

What Triangle homeowners say.

"They tore off our 30-year-old hardboard, found rot in two corners we didn't know about, fixed it, and put up Hardie ColorPlus — the house looks brand new. Project manager texted us every morning with the day's plan."

The Pelletier Family Wake Forest

"We did Hardie lap on the main body and board-and-batten on the gables. Three other contractors said they couldn't match the batten spacing to our windows — StormSafe nailed it. Curb appeal is incredible."

The Williams Family Raleigh

"Honest about the trade-offs. They walked us through Hardie vs. CertainTeed, told us where vinyl made sense for our rental, and didn't try to upsell us. Install was clean — done in 5 days."

The Rodriguez Family Durham

Common Questions

Everything homeowners want to know before re-siding.

How much does siding replacement cost in the Triangle? +

For a typical Triangle home (1,800-2,400 sq ft of exposed siding), most projects fall in the $22,000-$48,000 range depending on material, trim package, and how much rot repair we find under the old siding. Hardie ColorPlus runs roughly 30-50% more than CertainTeed Mainstreet vinyl. We give a written, line-itemed estimate so you can see exactly where the money goes.

How long does the install take? +

A standard Triangle reside takes 4-7 working days on site, weather permitting. We don't leave a fully open wall overnight — we work in zones and re-paper or temporary-cover anything that's exposed at end of day.

Hardie or vinyl — which should I pick? +

If this is your forever home, Hardie wins on durability and resale almost every time. If it's a rental, a flip, a budget-driven reside, or a secondary property, CertainTeed Mainstreet vinyl gets you 80% of the curb appeal at 60% of the cost. We'll walk through both on the in-home quote and tell you what we'd do if it were our house.

Do you handle window and door trim? +

Yes — HardieTrim, PVC, or aluminum wraps depending on the look you want. Trim, fascia, soffit, and corner posts are part of the standard scope, not an add-on quoted separately. Old gutters can either be re-hung or replaced with new color-matched seamless gutters during the same project.

What if the old siding has asbestos or lead paint? +

Common on Triangle homes built before 1980. We test before tear-off when needed and follow EPA RRP protocols for lead paint. Asbestos siding gets handled by a licensed abatement subcontractor — not a DIY tear-off. We coordinate the whole sequence so it's still one project for you.

Will you match my existing color? +

Usually yes — the Hardie ColorPlus library has 700+ shades and CertainTeed's lineup covers most popular Triangle palettes. If you want an exact custom match, Hardie also ships a "primed for paint" version we can field-paint to any color you want. Color durability is shorter than ColorPlus, but the option is there.

Can I finance siding? +

Yes — through our financing partner Hearth. Most homeowners doing a full reside also bundle in a roof, gutters, or both, and finance the whole exterior project together. See our financing page for monthly payment ranges.
